Unemployment rate lowest on record
(BangkokPost.com) – Unemployment in Thailand has dropped to an all-time low, according to the Labour Minister.
Mr Apai Chanthaehulaka revealed that efforts to reduce the rate of unemployment throughout the year 2007 saw the unemployment rate drop to just 1.2 percent.
“I would like to thank all agencies who co-operated with the Labour Ministry in providing justice to Thai labourers and contributing to the decline of unemployment,” he said. “We will continue with plans to resolve this problem throughout the year 2008, where we will focus more on creating jobs and providing vocational training for people in the northeastern region.”
