7.5 MW PV plant in Thailand online
Work has been completed on a 7.5 megawatt (MW) photovoltaic park, located in Thailand’s Dan Khun Thot district, in Nakhon Ratchasima province.
Spain-based Assyce intends to install a total of 100 MW of photovoltaics in Thailand.
Assyce Group
Work on the project lasted around six months, according to José Luis Martín, Thailand country manager for Assyce Fotovoltaica (Thailand) Ltd. He added that while Assyce carried out the engineering, procurement and construction on the project, it is owned by Sonnedix and Ch. Karnchang Plc.
The system, comprised of FS 280 photovoltaic modules from First Solar, Ingecon 500 HE TL inverters from Ingeteam, and transformers from Tirathai, will receive an adder* of eight Thai Baht per kilowatt hour.
In terms of other photovoltaic projects, Martín says that a 9.5 MW system is being developed in Thailand’s Chiang Rai, "probably" with the same partners. It is expected to be complete by the end of this year. Both projects represent an investment worth €35 million.
Overall, the company has a 2012 pipeline worth 25 MW. Martín was not at liberty to disclose further project specifics, however.
* The solar incentive scheme offered by Thailand is unlike other tariff schemes, in that the tariffs are called 'adders' and are paid on top of the retail price for electricity.
