Threads or New Posts disappear down the list too quickly.
"All posts of the day" should be listed together? Then allocated later
All active Posts should be highlighted better.
Just trying to get more people to respond.
All those who view could be listed as Guests or Members?
Daily "Hits" could be prominent.
ie 100 people visit our sites today.
Some of these newspaper articles dull the site
Many are of doubtful interest so suggest you be more selective and just add the link to the page you want to display.
Interesting/ contoversial threads should be on the top line.
Im not just a critic, but a contributor, who wants to see this more responsible site promoted.
Its different to KF not better and to encourage different articles on Thai issues and Expat issues and current affairs issues
Hope you take it in that spirit.

Some good points, some to be explained.

This is a matter of posting frequency, two remedies: less posting or more lists (forums or subforums for specific fields). I'm for the latter. Ideas please! :D

You can get a listing of all active topics by clicking "view active topics" on top of the german section.

At the moment it is not wise to make moderations to this software since it is not a final version yet; it will change in the coming weeks or months for sure.

When people feel comfortable on a forum they'll participate by themselves. Unfortunately many foreigners around Thailand have been scared by what happens at a big site. It takes a little time. People are still trying to get used to this new software. And it's the infamous "summer hole" now . . .

There is a display of that and a button "Who is online" at the lower left of the forum. Upon clicking you can even monitor what each visitor is doing. Mods might even be able to view the IPs and could find out from where the visitor connects.

There is no mod available yet for an automatically updated display. But we can open a thread that is manually updated with the values from the day before. Like: Yesterday (07-13-07) we had 8,990 hits, 5,061 files opened, 272 page visits, 90 unique visits, 113 sites online and 103,384 kB downloaded.

It's very difficult to predict what readers in general are interested in. Interests vary. Adding the link of a newspaper article only is a very dangerous thing because many news sites (e. g. Bangkok Post) change the urls every day. That means if you didn't click that link in time you"ll get an error message. Readers love that! Better copy the article into the forum. Also some articles become interesting at the update to the story.

That can be done with the moderator controls at the bottom right of the thread: "Sticky" makes the thread move only within the "Stickies" of that forum, "Announcement gives it a fixed position at the top of the forum.

That's highly appreciated. :D

Of course! Did anybody try to make you think any different?
