Seeking furniture and appliances

Ungelesener Beitragvon yobibear (?2012) » So Apr 29, 2012 6:32 pm

We are moving into a house in Korat and are looking to buy good quality furniture and appliances. Not cheap but good.
We also are looking to buy an older car.

Appliances at TaiFah in the street at the backside of JaMo statue.
I have the last 8 years good experience with their delivery and after sales service.
You have great choice of several brands and price classes.

The after sales service at The Mall is none. They will address you to the manufacturer's after sales service and if you're lucky they will have one somewhere in Korat town.

I bought u.o. furniture with SB at The Mall.
You can make your own quality/price choice.
If you take the brochure and choose your furniture, you can go to a furniture shop at the Chomsurangyat Rd (in the middle opposite the Shell tank station and hairdresser's shop.
They also represent SB and,as they do have a limited showroom of SB articles, they will order for you and install at home and.......you can negotiate the price with them!!!
I bought many items with them and sometimes up to 20% cheaper as offered to me at The Mall.Their delivery / after sales service is very good.

Dear Dutch,
thank you very much for your advise.
I did it the hard way. Went to IKEA in Bkk. A total flop.
Then we went to Muang Thong Thani,Impac Arena, there is a furniture Fair going on.
Many furniture manufacturers there.
One can buy good quality furniture and appliances.
But its on , only one more week.

All the best,
yobibear

Dear Goldmonkey,

in Europe you expect IKEA to have solid pine furniture.
Not her though. Mostly made out of woodchip boards or melamine.
Then they want you to take wantet items out of the shelf , on a trolley and payat the cashier, then push it to costumerservice and pay 5000 bht to Korat.
Not to be done with a whole furniture set.
Wed gave up , without spending 1 bht.

Good Luck

The humidity doesn't seem to be the reason, but rather the insufficient amount of glue mixed to it before pressing and an insuficient layer of furnish coating. Chipwood planks over here are usually just held together by the extremely thin and low quality furnish coating. Sometimes just the act of cleaning, the rubbing the surface with a wet sponge, will make the furnish disappear, leaving a hole.

I would check out the various furniture stores, some appear to have cheaper stuff only but you might find something rather decent for the price.
